Fort Stewart is a United States army post built in January of 1941. Fort Stewart is considered the largest army installation in the Eastern United States. Throughout history, this military base has been involved in post World War II, the Korean War, Cuban Missile Crisis, Vietnam War, and also served as a POW camp. The military installation wants to provide a community of excellence for armed forces so they can train, deploy and raise their families. Fort Stewart is home to units of the 3d Infantry Division and its headquarters.
