Keesler AFB is a United States Air Force Base located in Biloxi, Mississippi on the coast of the Gulf of Mexico. The base has been part of the Air Education and Training Command since 1941, and their primary mission since then has been training. Training in high-technology fields, especially electronic specialties have been a big part of Keesler AFB. Keesler is also home to the Second Air Force (2 AF) headquarters, and the 81st Training Wing (81 TW). The base was named after aviator 2d Lt Samuel Reeves Keesler, Jr., who was originally from Mississippi and was killed in France during World War I.
