Moody AFB, GA

Moody AFB is a United States Air Force installation and part of the Air Combat Command. Located in Lowndes County, Georgia, the base was originally named Valdosta Airfield when it first opened on September 15, 1941. The host unit at Moody Air Force Base is the 23rd Wing, and the base is also home to the world famous “Flying Tigers”, Combat Search and Rescue, and Security Forces warriors. The 23rd Wing of Air Combat Command is to organize, train, and employ combat-ready A-10, HC-130P Combat King II, and HH-60 Pave Hawk aircraft flight crews.
