Hill Air Force Base is the third-largest Air Force Base in the country and is located in northern Utah. Apart of the Air Force Materiel Command, Hill AFB is home to a large number of operation and support missions. The 75th Air Base Wing is the host organization at the base. Hill AFB was named after Ployer Peter Hill, a member of the U.S. Army Air Corps who died testing a prototype aircraft called the B-17 Flying Fortress bomber.
