Hurlburt AFB, or Hurlburt Field, is a United States Air Force Base in Okaloosa County, Florida and bordering the Gulf of Mexico. The field is part of the Eglin Air Force Reservation, and is considered the headquarters for the Air Force Special Operations Command, and other organizations. The 1st Special Operations Wing is the garrison for Hurlburt Field. The field was dedicated to First Lieutenant Donald Wilson Hurlburt (1919-1943), who died in a crash at Eglin.
