McGuire AFB, NJ

McGuire Air Force Base, also known as Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, is located in Burlington County of New Jersey and originated in 1941 as Fort Dix Army Air Force Base. McGuire AFB is home to the 87^th Air Base Wing, the 305^th Air Mobility Wing, the USAF Expeditionary Mobility Task Force, 108^th Air Refueling Wing and he 514^th Air Mobility Wing. McGuire was named after Major Thomas B. McGuire, Jr., who was a Medal of Honor recipient. The mission of McGuire AFB is to support troop, passenger, equipment, cargo, and mail transportation, as well as to provide aerial refueling globally.
